Roaming around Finland!

Hello everyone!

A lot has been going on over here in Europe! We took a cruise ship from Sweden to Finland where I currently am right now. The class also took a train to Jyvaskyla to look at some Alvar Alto buildings and museums. That was a very long day. I think it was about 19 hours total. We had our first design project due in Sweden while we were still staying on the boat. We had to design a public space in London. It was fun to see what everyone had come up with! Yesterday our professor gave us a two day scavenger hunt to find buildings and places. We rented bikes so our workload today would be easier! It was so fun riding around town! They have designated bike lanes on the sidewalks! It was pretty sweet. Today we are off to go look at some more buildings to document, draw, and write about them. Our hotel here in Finland is one of the nicest hotels I have ever been in. It has been really nice to sleep in a comfortable bed and take a nice high pressure shower. Well, looks like the guys are ready to go over here. Off to go explore! Hope everyone is doing great! Bye for now!

Very nice - the vagabond traveler tales! Keep 'em coming! Watch out for the speed traps on the sidewalk!

Thank you for updating your blog! Sounds like your professor has been keeping you really busy! Did you see any of your relatives in Sweden? :) The bike ride sounded like fun, and how innovative to put the bike path on the sidewalk! We paddled yesterday and saw a gigantic green sea turtle and humongous manta ray with a wing span of about 5'. Very cool.
